Another Day in Paradise...

Sunny, hot California. Oh yes. Strange plants, Mexican food, dry heat, friendly, open people.

Deep blue skies, palm trees, cold beer in cold glasses. Tips. Brutal T.V. shows, amazing for such a great country. Cant complain about RTE after this. I reckon its purposely dumbed down, keep the people from asking too many questions. There are no current affairs programmes on any of the 75 channels in the hotel room. Ads and stories about puppys and football and newscasters with funny haircuts talking about the lastest hit and run or storm damage and Obama's puppy and more ads...

Over here photographing musicians, rehearsals and performances, super job. They are at the top of the professional musicians game, each one picked for their skill and good nature. Have a look at one part of one of the performances on You Tube; just copy and paste this into the top window or just click on it;

Its just over 9 minutes long, amazing skill and an awesome live performance. I was the cameraman for this one, that explains the dodgy camerawork (I need more practice Adrian!).
Thats Richard O Neill, viola, Kevin Fitzgerald, piano and Nicholas Daniel, oboe.
This is one of the venues, Hahn Hall in Santa Barbara.

Ani Aznavoorian, Catherine Leonard and Richard O Neill on the tracks.

Went whalewatchin the other day, wonderful to see them. And a big herd, bunch, shoal or whateveryacallit of dolphins, great fun!

And finally, on the subject of strange plants, have a look at this magic orchid...

Weeks slide past. From drama to quiet to funny to scary to sweet, with many miles driven all over the place. The last couple of weeks saw Awards, politics, Ireland v Wales (hooray), landscapes, a new camera (oh yummy, the new 5d mark2), a lovely wedding in Markree (thanks Noelle & Damon), learning the tricky details of off camera multiple flash, a super, and intense training session on Lightroom with Ciaran Rooney (Photoshop expert and trainer), Ireland V Italy (phew), a biodynamics shoot (thanks Mary), family pics, a really cool model shoot (thanks Jennifer), and Aidan Crotty's "Fallow"exhibition opening in Sligo Yeats Gallery.

Jack Harte and Aidan Crotty. A lovely exhibition of sharply
percieved and meticulously executed work, in the Yeats Gallery Sligo.
Red dots were flyin.

This is from Ross beach looking over at Enniscrone

First post ever... maybe the last...

A new experiment. All the youngsters say its cool, so here goes. I will try to do this regularly, but more than likely won't.
